Tiranadrive Tirana operates tiranadrive.com as a car rental comparison and booking referral service for Tirana, Albania. We do not own or operate a rental fleet. Instead we connect visitors searching for a rental car with LocalRent, the booking platform that powers our search and checkout, and with the independent rental suppliers listed on it. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our site, what we pass on to LocalRent to complete a search or booking, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. Albania is not a member of the European Union or the European Economic Area, but a large share of our visitors travel from EU and EEA countries, so we apply the standard set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to everyone who uses this site, regardless of where they are located.

Information we collect through search and booking

When you use the search form on tiranadrive.com, we pass your search criteria, pickup and drop off dates, pickup and drop off location in or around Tirana, and your chosen car category, to the LocalRent platform so it can return live availability and pricing from participating suppliers. If you proceed to book, LocalRent and the supplier fulfilling your rental also receive the personal details needed to complete the reservation: your full name, e-mail address, phone number, driver's licence details, age, and payment or deposit card information. We do not process or store your full payment card number ourselves; that step is handled directly by LocalRent's payment processor under its own security controls. Any message you send us through a contact form or e-mail is collected by us directly, together with the address you sent it from and the content of the message.

Information we store ourselves

Separately from what LocalRent stores for the purpose of running your rental, Tiranadrive Tirana keeps a limited record on its own systems: the search parameters you entered (dates, location, car category), technical data about your visit (IP address, browser type, device type, referring page), and any correspondence you send us. We do not build a marketing profile from this data and we do not sell it to data brokers. Where a booking is completed through our site, we may retain a basic record of the referral (which page sent the click, and the approximate date) to reconcile affiliate commission with LocalRent, without retaining your card or licence details.

Cookies and analytics

Our site uses cookies and similar local storage to keep the search form working across pages, remember your selected locale, and understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Strictly necessary cookies (session identifiers, security tokens) are set automatically and cannot be switched off, since the search and booking flow will not function without them. Analytics cookies, which help us see which pages and searches are popular, are only set with your consent where the law of your location requires it, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings or using the cookie controls on our site. Legal bases for processing

Processing your search and booking details is necessary to perform the contract between you and the supplier, and to take steps at your request before that contract is formed (Article 6(1)(b)). Sharing minimal technical data with LocalRent and fraud prevention checks rests on our legitimate interest in running a working, secure booking service (Article 6(1)(f)), balanced against your right to privacy. Analytics and any optional marketing e-mail rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Where local law requires us to keep booking or invoice records for tax or accounting purposes, that processing rests on our legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).

How long we keep your data

We keep search records that never turned into a booking for a short period, typically up to 12 months, then delete or anonymise them. Records tied to a completed booking, including the referral record used to reconcile commission with LocalRent, are kept for as long as needed to resolve disputes or refunds, and afterwards for the period required by tax and accounting law in our jurisdiction (commonly up to 7 years for financial records). Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to answer your query and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up, then deleted. LocalRent and the rental supplier each act as an independent controller for the data they hold once your booking is confirmed, and each applies its own retention rules, described in their own privacy notices.

Your data protection rights

Under the GDPR and equivalent laws, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access), to have inaccurate data corrected (rectification), to have your data deleted where there is no overriding reason to keep it (erasure), to object to processing based on our legitimate interest (objection), to ask us to limit how we use your data while a request is being resolved (restriction), and to receive the data you gave us in a portable, machine readable format so it can be moved to another provider (portability). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month, as required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your own country of residence.

International data transfers

Because Tiranadrive Tirana is based in Tirana, Albania, and Albania sits outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, any personal data you submit through our site is transferred to a country outside the EEA the moment it reaches us. The same is true of the data LocalRent and its suppliers process to fulfil your booking, some of whom operate outside the EEA as well. Where we or LocalRent transfer personal data out of the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data continues to receive a comparable level of protection. Renting a car requires a valid driver's licence and a minimum age set by each supplier, so our service is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the services we offer, or the law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically, particularly before submitting personal data through a new booking.
